3 Keys To Keeping More Of Your Money Starting Now

How good of a job do you do when it comes to lowering your debt, finding deals and planning for the future?

If the answer is not all that well, don’t you think now would be a good time to change this?

Find Ways to Avoid Spending Too Much

In your efforts to avoid spending too much, here are a few keys you need to keep in mind:

  1. Lower your debt – Have you tallied too much in debt over time? If so, this is not good for your bank account. That said you want to take steps to lower that debt sooner than later. So, do you have sizable credit card debt? This can be some of the worst debt to have. By not paying off the balance each month, you will build up interest fees. Over time, this is in essence throwing money out the window. Do your best to get that debt down on time. You should also look to see if there are other banks out there with better credit card deals. By doing a transfer, you may be able to save some money as time goes by. Except for when you really need to use your credit card or cards, try and use cash much of the time.
  2. Securing deals – How good of a job do you do when it comes to securing deals? As an example, do you like to take vacations or do day trips near or far from home? If so, do your best to get good deals. So, if thinking of a trip to Disney, discount Disney tickets would be ideal. Those discounts can be found often on a brand’s website. You can also look to approved ticket resellers online to see what they may be offering. Also look to outside family and friends to see if they can help you save. They can tip you off for specific brands you like to use and when those brands have deals. In return, do the same for those you know helping you out. At the end of the day, spending too much money away from home is not healthy for your bank account.
  3. Have you planned for the future? – Finally, have you done a good job of planning for your financial future? For instance, do you have one or more retirement account set up? How good of a job have you done when it comes to having a secure healthcare benefits plan in place as you age? Not having either of these can lead you to live your latter years with regrets. Take the time now before you get to that point to see if you are making wise financial decisions. Review your retirement planning. Also look to see if affordable healthcare coverage will be there for you. It is also a good time to look at Social Security and what you may be able to expect when you get to that point.

In keeping more of your money starting now, it all comes down to making smart decisions.

So, are you up to the challenge?
